Samsung smartphones, such as the premium Galaxy S21 series and the cheap A-series. These have become the most popular Android handsets in the area due to a combination of top technology and a diverse product selection. Apple’s recently released iPhone 13 5G devices produced a jump in shipments in late Q3 2021. This along with its older iPhone 12 models, resulted in positive yearly growth of 9% in the third quarter of 2021.
Apple’s growth would have been much better if it hadn’t been for component shortages and production disruptions in Asia. This hindered its ability to satisfy the demand for its new iPhone 13 series devices. Linda Sui, Senior Director at Strategy Analytics, said this statement.
The top five smartphone suppliers in terms of shipments in the area accounted for 93% of overall shipments in the region. In the third quarter of 2021, smartphone shipments in North America were down 7% year over year. Samsung was also hampered by supply issues, which impeded its capacity to satisfy high client demand.
