Despite the success in the business and the super following on social media, Kourtney Kardashian stated that the Kardashian-Jenner family’s road to reality-TV stardom became a solid start.
Kardashian announced on Wednesday’s episode of the “Emergency Contact with Simon Huck & Melissa Gray Washington” podcast – before “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” launched, the fam bought a reality show of themselves, various networks without any progress.
“This producer that met Kardashian had found her interesting and desired to shoot with her,” Kardashian told her cohosts Washington & Huck. “They came to the shop, and then the girl was like, ‘Oh my god, you & your sisters, like, this is all.'”
The show, of course, lasted for 14 years and 20 seasons and birthed many spinoffs arranged in Miami, New York, and the Hamptons.
But Kardashian said she was not comfortable with cameras shooting her every move — and she had a lot of limitations in the beginning.
“I’d think about like, ‘Oh my god, what did I say? What did I do?'” Kardashian described.
“I did not realize how little of it is used and that you don’t know how editors are going to edit it and make you look or what the purpose is.”
“I think once we began seeing edits, I felt more comfortable,” Kourtney added.
Kourtney Kardashian announced: It’s ‘bittersweet’ to Say Goodbye.
Kardashian said to Simon and Gray that she thought the show would be short-lived at that time. The long-running reality show, which initially debuted in 2007 and has crossed 20 seasons with many spinoffs, is undoubtedly happening to end this year — and Kourtney stated: she has mixed emotions towards it.
Reflecting on the show’s completion during her Emergency Contact interview, she said that despite being “scared of change,” she feels “excited” for what is yet to come.
