Years after Kathy Griffin shaved her skull in solidarity with her sister who was enduring chemotherapy, the comedian and entertainer have declared she has lung cancer.”I’ve got to notify you, friends, something. I have cancer,” Griffin started with a declaration posted Monday on her official Instagram announcement.
“I’m about to get surgery to have half of my left lung eliminated,” the statement proceeded with. “Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!”
Griffin’s physicians “are very positive” that the cancer is phase one and encompassed to her left lung, she announced. She began again, “The physicians are very confident as it is phase one and enclosed to my left lung. Hopefully, no chemo or radiation after this and I should have a natural process with my breathing. I should be up and riding around as normal in a month or less. It’s been a helluva four years, attempting to get a job, making you fellas laugh and regaling you, but I’m gonna be almost fine.”
The comedian foresees that she will not have to withstand chemotherapy or radiation and that she should be fine and running around healthy as usual in a month or less as per the note. Griffin composed, seemingly referring to a backlash that was after a dubious photoshoot she did carrying a decoy, bloody skull that matched Donald Trump.
She finished the statement by motivating her supporters to remain up-to-date on their medical checkups. Lung cancer is the third most widespread cancer in the US, according to the CDC. In July 2017, Griffin trimmed her head in appreciation of her sister Joyce who was fighting cancer; her sister departed that September. Griffin also missed her brother Gary to cancer in 2014.
Griffin’s mama Maggie, who had her enthusiast basis thanks to her popular daughter, departed last year at the age of 99 after enduring dementia. Her fans wished her a speedy recovery.
