Jon Lester ended up winning with his arm, glove, and bat. His teammate named Anothony Rizzo got impressed by his skills. Rizzo said that Lester is a really good athlete. He continued and said that he doesn’t say too much about pitchers. Lester helped the Chicago Clubs win against the New York Mets 7-4 on Monday. This was their sixth consecutive victory.
Also, Rizzo homered as well as Daniel Murphy reached three more times from the leadoff spot. In the third, Cubs gave three runs ending up with Lester’s big hit.
Lester said that he got lucky. He said that guys throw really hard, he just tried to hit the ball somewhere. Lester helped himself in the field. Lester is left-handed. He had difficulty in throwing to bases. Therefore, he picked off Rosario after he reached on third baseman David Bote’s fault in the fifth.
The Cubs manager namely Joe Maddon said that it is the best week of the year for us. He said that there were games that they could have lost but ended up winning them. He concluded by saying that everything went in their favor. This happened because they do the little things in a good manner and those things helped them to get at the pinnacle.
The game was not opened smoothly. Lester walked the first two batters named Brandon Nimmo and Jose Bautista. But, in the end, Lester struck out the three hitters who came up next in order to end the inning. The Cubs are glad to have this left-handed athlete in their team.
