The Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers started off the match by trading baskets as both sides put up a flurry of points. As per our sources, midway through the first quarter, the 76ers took advantage of Denver’s turnovers and knocked down 3-point shots as they stretched their points to 17 to take lead against Denver’s. As the second unit guys got into the game, Denver’s quickly covered up with 9 points but failed to maintain the same as the 76ers finished the period strong lead 37-22 heading to the second quarter of the match.
As the second quarter kicked off, Denver’s second unit held the line for a few minutes but that slowly started to break. While the 76ers could not miss a shot, the Nuggets failed to match their opponents. In the final few minutes, Denver’s quickly took a 19-point lead for Philadelphia, heading to halftime within five with the score being 53-58.
After finishing the first half of the game with a flurry of points, team Denver managed to continue the same as they scored the first four points which lead them to a 14-0 run. The Nuggets took their first lead with a score of 6-5 while Philadelphia managed to get some points on board. Battling back, the 76ers were able to regain their lead.
Though the Nuggets were keeping the game close, they were down by seven points but headed into the final period of the game. With nine minutes remaining for the game, they had a tie at 89. Both the teams started trading 3-point shots over the next few minutes and tied again with 97 with under seven minutes remaining.
A long-range 3-pointer by Bones Hyland gave the team a 3-point lead. He quickly followed it up with another deep triple that gave the team a 6-point lead in the game. With 6:06 remaining for the game, Philadelphia was forced to call a timeout.
